What’s one of the most common types of academic essays you’ll write?
It’s the Pros and Cons Essay. This type of essay is on a lot of exams, and in college writing classes. Writing the pros and cons of different topics helps you better analyze two sides of an issue. And seeing two sides of an issue is an essential skill for success in all your academic classes.
So what do I mean by pros and cons? Pros are positive things and cons are negative things about an issue. Sometimes a Pros and Cons Essay is called a Positive and Negative Essay. But the idea is the same, and this activity can be used for both types of essays. You also use pros and cons to help you build an argument for an argumentative essay.

You’re very welcome. I love graphic organizers too.
This is a great vlog. Writing 100 words can be a huge challenge for those that like to write and those that don’t. Writing short and concise is a great challenge.
Great video! Graphic organizers work extremely well especially for visual learners. I like that your post is interactive. Did anyone send you a sample of their writing? Whenever I like the pros and cons list as well. I use it often when I have to make a decision about something!
